Programme Procurement Manager (Submarines)SF31076Devonport, Plymouth About the RoleWere looking for a Programme Procurement Manager to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. Were a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security. The Naval Nuclear Supply Chain (Submarine Team) are embedded in the Submarine cross functional team and represent the Supply Chain interests as an Internal service provider into the project / program. Working on major repair and overhaul, deep maintenance programs in addition to fleet time support areas the supply chain team provide Materials, Services and Subcontract support to secure Operational Output on a new and exciting platform. Leading a versatile and multiple skills team including material procurement, equipment overhaul and repair the successful candidate will ensure material and service delivery into the Submarine and associated Infrastructure programmes. . Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain (Submarines) the Programme Procurement Manager will have overall accountability for the supply chain design, execution, and performance for a submarine platform. What do I need to do the roleThe Programme Procurement Manager would suit a candidate who is seeking a career within an embedded Supply Chain procurement environment with: •Defence Sector Repair and Overhaul knowledge•Exposure to regulatory bodies such as Lloyds and ONR•Sound Commercial Understanding of "Best Practice"•Experienced procurement practitioner with knowledge of current strategic procurement techniques and (Relevant experience in Sourcing & Procurement)•Material Management Experience including Inventory Control methodologies•Experience of working in complex project environments. Qualifications•Qualified to degree level or equivalent•MCIPS or equivalent professional accreditation•Six Sigma Greenbelt or higher desirable What else do I need to know• The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements.
