You will work closely with the leadership team to steer the Finance team forward through 2023 & beyond, by providingaccurate data, ensuring systems are up-to-date and that pay & benefits are processed accordingly.For a proactive Accounts professional with a passion for optimisation & change, this is an exciting opportunity to get hands on within an organisation that gives a "feel-good" factor from their work.Key Responsibilities:* Ensuring prompt and accurate invoicing and managing the invoice factoring scheme.* Credit control, including credit checks and proactively managing aged debts.* Keeping all ledgers and journals up to date using Sage. * Bank & credit card reconciliations.* Responding to enquiries on accounts from internal customers, customers and suppliers and communicating effectively with them on when to hold/stop accounts.* Monitoring & communicating information regarding cash position and cashflow* Managing the preparation of budgets, forecasts, flash-reports, service-costing & ad hoc reports liaising with and providing insights and recommendations to the Leadership Team to act on.* Completing and submitting full and accurate statutory returns at the required intervals for VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax etc. and liaising with external accountants on the submission of statutory accounts after trial balance stage.* Undertaking company secretary responsibilities for companies and maintaining the fixed asset register, then preparing dividend and share redemption certificates.* Managing the companys insurances to ensure necessary cover is always in place at a competitive rate.* Ensuring Payroll and pension contributions are managed accurately and on time.* Ensuring records of time, absence from work and overtime are accurate and provided on a timely basis.* Ensuring Personnel files are maintained, inductions organised, sickness absence and employee benefit schemes (e.g. medical insurance, attendance bonus etc.) are actively managed.Essential Qualities & Experience:* Candidates must have an accounting qualification & record of ongoing CPD* Sufficient commercial business experience to operate independently to complete the full range of Finance Manager tasks whilst operating sound, efficient accounting processes* Candidates must be confident in preparing budgets, forecasts, financial analysis and have evidence of this in previous roles* Advanced Excel skills & Sage experience* Understanding of techniques & approaches of management accounting with evidence of this in training/qualifications* A positive, proactive self-starter able to prioritise tasks in a changing and varied workload, with high accuracy & an eye for detail.
