This will include providing support with household tasks, meal planning and preparation, maintaining relationships with their family and friends and with accessing the community.If your best traits are positivity, friendliness and innovation then this job is for you!Main duties and responsibilities:To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.The ServiceWorking for the Dove Project, part of The Caretech Group, our friendly team in Plymouth & Ivybridge are currently looking for motivated and enthusiastic support workers to join our team to support people in their homes and out in the community.You will be working alone and as part of a team supporting people with various needs, such as Learning Disabilities, Mental ill Health, and Autistic Spectrum Disorders including Asperger’s Syndrome.You will have a person-centred approach to supporting people with their day-to-day living in order to provide a caring, safe and effective service that is responsive to the needs of the people we support.Being a driver is preferred but not essential. If you are a driver, you must have a full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and have business insurance in place.Personal CharacteristicsDiploma in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one.Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.The ability to keep calm under pressure.Have a flexible approach to working hours.The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.Excellent communication skillsThe passion to work with vulnerable adultsThe desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.The Organisation:CareTech Community Services Ltd is a provider of specialist social care services supporting 5000 adults with a wide range of needs in more than 300 services across the UK.
