Job Description

Technical Sales Adviser (applications from engineering graduates invited)Permanent, full-timePinxton, Nottinghamshire (NG16)ProSpare is a well-established, family-owned company specialising in powder processing and partnering with many blue chip organisations in a wide variety of sectors, including food, pharma, minerals and chemicals. ProSpare is the UK distributor for the BFM® fitting, the world’s first snap-in flexible connector, the revolutionary design of which is greatly improving powder handling processes in numerous sectors worldwide.We are seeking a Technical Sales Adviser who will be either an engineering graduate or, ideally, someone with experience in an office-based technical sales role, especially if they also have a relevant degree. The successful candidate will have a strong technical bias coupled with strong commercial acumen.This is an excellent opportunity to start or further your career in a specialist role in a small but highly successful team, where you will receive comprehensive training and be influential in the further growth of the company.Main responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and product sales advice to UK customers and prospects in Hygienic and Industrial sectors, demonstrating sound product knowledge and in-depth understanding of applications and best practice.
  • Undertake detailed analysis of technical issues and offer advice and appropriate solutions. Advise on regulatory compliance for the BFM product range.
  • Produce quotation and sales order documentation, managing orders through to dispatch.
  • Record and maintain accurate and detailed data, undertake sales analysis and contribute to the team’s achievement of sales targets by helping to retain and develop existing customers and capitalising on new business opportunities.
  • Proactive in seeking opportunities to build knowledge of products, customer applications, compliance and the market; seek to continually improve internal systems and processes.
  • Attend meetings with customers to provide technical input as required.
  • Key skills/qualities/experience
  • Technically strong - quick to understand technical data.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Very high level of literacy and numeracy, strong IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Confident and resourceful when interacting with customers and prospects.
  • Degree-level qualification in engineering, ideally manufacturing or general engineering. Experience in a Technical Sales role (ideally powder processing-related) is essential if not an engineering graduate.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Team player who naturally seeks to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to ongoing learning and development.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, excellent attention to detail.
  • First-rate time management/organisational skills.
  • Comprehensive training will be given.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme + free parking. Working hours 8.30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • 23 days’ holiday plus public holidays.
