Job Description

Reporting into the Head of People this is a newly created role with the scope to make it your own and the opportunity to get involved in lots of exciting HR related projects. We are looking for a creative and passionate HR generalist with experience gained in a diverse range of areas, from recruitment to employee relations.Flexible Hours: We are happy to consider candidates on a full-time or part-time basis (a minimum of 3 full days or 4 or 5 shorter days). We are also happy to consider a degree of home working.The Company: Established in 2001, Paradigm Norton are one of the largest truly independent financial planning companies in England, servicing over 1,400 families with over £1.1 billion of assets under management and employing a team of 70 across three offices: Bristol, London and Torquay. They are the only financial planning firm to have won the prestigious Citywire New Model Adviser South West award 11 times, most recently in 2020, they are a Certified B Corporation and in March 2019 became an employee owned business. Putting the clients’ goals at the heart of the process they deliver comprehensive and bespoke financial planning, investment and portfolio management, tax and estate planning and advice on giving and philanthropy, translating complex financial issues and strategies for high net worth clients into workable solutions.HR Advisor, Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment - working with our Recruitment Partner to attract and secure the best talent.
  • On-boarding - developing an exciting on-boarding experience which reflects the progressive and empowering company culture.
  • HR Procedures - develop, create and enhance HR processes that are user friendly, reflect the company culture and fully support the business
  • Employee Engagement - promote and further develop the values-led culture, measuring team satisfaction, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations
  • Employee Relations - support line managers with any performance management issues and employee relations matters, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements
  • Training and Development - support managers with delivery of appraisals and training and development initiatives in line with Personal Development Plans.
  • Ad hoc HR projects
  • HR Advisor, Skills and Experience required:
  • Experience of working in HR generalist role preferably gained in a professional services industry.
  • Recruitment and on-boarding experience
  • A good understanding of Employee Relations and current employment legislation
  • Pragmatic, both people focused and commercially astute.
  • The experience and credibility to support line managers with appraisals and performance management, supporting them with difficult conversations while engendering confidence and trust.
  • Training and development experience with a strong desire to help people be the best they can be
  • Experience of developing HR Processes, with the ability to positively challenge the status quo in the pursuit of excellence
  • A creative approach and the attention to detail required to deliver and implement change
  • A strong alignment with the company values…that people matter, in setting the bar high, in building for the future and that actions speak louder than words
  • Preferable but not essential - a CIPD (or similar) qualification
  • Experience of working in a generalist HR role is essential for this position.
