Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Surgical Admissions Lounge at Tunbridge Wells Hospital for an Admissions Nurse as part of the departments restart plan post COVID. We are looking for a qualified nurse with enthusiasm for excellent patient care that has a desire to work in a fast paced peri-operative setting.We pride ourselves in delivering safe, high quality care to ensure the patients’ experience is a positive one. The Trained Nurse will be leading the preparation of the patient in the peri-operitive phase and will work closely with other Theatre Staff.Collaborative working with our Day surgery Unit will be required, and may be required to support the nursing care on the ward as apart of the role.You will have relevant experience in caring for surgical patients and will thrive in a busy setting. You need to be forward thinking and flexible in your approach to managing change and possess a can-do attitude. You will need to be highly motivated, with the ambition to develop yourself. You will have the full support of the unit manager who is keen to develop you so that you may reach your full potential.You will be expected to attend the Trust’s Induction Programme for RNs, RMs and ODPs (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time, lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area and classroom-based study days which run from 9am to 5pm.Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level.
