Job Description

Would you like to work for a dynamic, friendly and hardworking team Ward 22 is based in Tunbridge Wells Hospital. It consists of 32 single rooms with en-suite bathrooms, taking both male and female patients with a specialty of elderly care with both acute medical and complex needs. We work collaboratively with a range of specialties to facilitate clinical excellence and holistic care delivery with a multi-disciplinary approach. Ward 22 has excellent medical cover and two Geriatric Consultants who support the nurses alongside our dedicated therapy team and Discharge Flow Co-coordinator to ensure safe and efficient medical and discharge planning. Our aim is to utilise community support to reduce patient’s length of stay which will in turn reduce Hospital Acquired Infections and will have an impact on the reductions of re-admissions.This post requires a motivational and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about Elderly Care. You must be flexible, approachable, motivated, and hardworking and be able to use your own initiative, whilst also having the ability to work under pressure.There will be chances to develop management skills in this role and the individual will also be a support for junior nursing staff working alongside the Ward Manager to help develop the Team.You will receive a comprehensive preceptorship program and will be encouraged in further development. We offer a supportive, exciting and challenging work environment and we are committed to the training and development of our staff.You will be expected to attend the Trust’s Induction Programme for RNs, RMs and ODPs (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the programme lead if this is problematic: ), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area and classroom-based study days which run from 9am to 5pm.Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level.
