Job Description

Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust provides maternity care to nearly 6000 women each year across the areas of Kent and East Sussex. The maternity department consists of a purpose built hospital at Pembury, Kent and two standalone Birthing Centres in Maidstone and Crowborough. Women choose to deliver at any of these centres or at home. Community midwifery support workers support our community midwives to provide care for mothers and babies in the post natal period.This exciting role are for those who wish to assist trained midwives in providing a high standard of clinical care for mothers and babies You will need to be reasonably flexible regarding shift patterns and working at weekends and bank holidaysFull training through a Trust backed apprenticeship at level 2 is offered to you , as well as Maternity specific study sessions and workplace. You will be supported in your apprenticeship by trained midwifery staff and peer support from senior maternity support workers.We can provide ongoing support and an orientation package for you.You will be expected to attend the Trust’s Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead if this is going to be problematic: ), lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling to both Trust sites. The programme includes 2 supernumerary shifts in the clinical area (an early and a late shift), all of the other days are classroom-based and run from 9am to 5pm(please note that some sessions are in the e- learning environment due to Covid 19 )Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at enhanced level.
