Production Operative

Job Description

Production Operative required to operate drinks manufacturing machines for a growing business near Canterbury. £24K - £26.5K + benefits, trainng and great prospects. 8-4.30 Monday to Friday.Reporting to the Production Team Leader / Manager, the Production Operative will run one, two or three machines in the production department, the bottling line, the disgorging line and the labelling machine. There will be times where work in the winery isalso required both during and outside of the harvest period. The Production Operative will need to be diligent, with an eye for detail and self-starting in a fast paced production environment. They must be willing to learn, as well as train in a wide arrayof skill sets and job functions.Production Operative activities and responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and organized working environment in the Production Department
• Set up and run one of, if not more, the bottling line, disgorging line and labelling line.
• Clean and maintain their respective line/machines and workplace areas.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks/shipments.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Follow Health and Safety protocols.
• Ensure QC procedures are followed.
• Learn and regularly review the three part job descriptions for each relevant work station.
• Assist training new Production Hands/Operatives.
• Other tasks as requested.

Mid to long term goals:

• Upskill to operative two or more lines.
• Gain counterbalance forklift and reach truck licenses.

Harvest:Time frame: Middle of September to end of OctoberDuring harvest Production Hands will:

• Support all harvest activities from grape receival, pressing, cleaning and cellar work
• Note that 10 - 12 hour days and night shift work are likely for 3-4 weeks, but may be for longer.
