Airship have an exciting opportunity for a Front End Developer to join their team.Location: Remote (UK) + Park Hill, Sheffield (5 mins walk from the train station)Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experienceJob Type: Full-time – PermanentHolidays: 20 days holiday + all bank holidays + an extra day holiday for each year workedWho are weAirship is an established SaaS (software as a service) company based in Sheffield. We havetwo products that serve the best and most exciting brands in the UK hospitality industry - thinkRevolution, Byron, The Alchemist, Leon, Turtle Bay, Franco Manca, Zizzi and many more.We’re looking for a Front End Developer to join our engineering team. The position isremote-first and we’re open to some flexible working, so you’re not tied to the office.Our development team are proud to be the 2021 winners of the UK Dev Awards “Best DevTeam of the Year”, and we are looking to welcome someone aboard to help strengthen ourteam even further.Front End Developer - The Role:Your role will kick off with mastering our overall product architectures, shadowing otherdevelopers and learning the ropes. You’ll immediately drop into our sprint kick-offs andstand-ups so you have exposure to our processes and learn how we work and who we are.Once you’ve found your feet and know your way around our products, you’ll startcollaborating and brainstorming solutions with our Chief Experience Officer (CXO), Head ofProduct and Head of Engineering, plus the rest of the development team.You’ll help to modernise the front end of our older product while taking full advantage of ournewer PWA’s codebase and component libraries to quickly prototype, iterate and release newfeatures, working alongside other developers.Bugs are bugs, and we’re not immune to them either. You’ll be quality-focussed, squashingthe critical ones as they arise, assisting the customer success team with troubleshootingwhere necessary.Front End Developer About You:You’ll love creating and coding front-end progressive web apps with meticulous attention touser-experience and detail. You’ll have a pixel-perfect eye for design and brand consistencyalong with the ability to maintain great user-experience across all devices and screen sizes.You’ll also care deeply about learning your craft as well as contributing to the success of ourproducts. You’ll no doubt have some of your own personal and professional projects underyour belt to show off your technical interests and proven track record, and probably besomewhat obsessed with writing readable, secure, accessible, testable, standards-compliantcode.Our engineering team generally works on web based applications, so you’ll need to be veryfamiliar with HTML, CSS and Javascript. Experience in NodeJS, Laravel, Vue.js or React wouldbe useful too. You will also be very familiar with APIs, including REST and GraphQL. You’llhave a good understanding of building component libraries that can be used to quickly buildinterfaces that are consistently on-brand.A graduate degree is not a necessity.
