An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic musculoskeletal physiotherapist to join the Musculoskeletal ICATs service. This would ideally be someone already in an AP post but may be an experienced Band 7 looking to develop their career.The successful applicant will be responsible for the management of patients within the Musculoskeletal Triage service, acting as a gatekeeper for orthopaedic services. The post holder will be responsible for the electronic triage of referrals and assessment and treatment of a spinal and/or upper limb caseload, including complex conditions. They will be expected to work outside the scope of usual physiotherapy practice for example requesting imaging and blood tests, injecting and prescribing. The management of patients will include referral for conservative management, education and advice, referral to secondary care orthopaedics and pain management. They will provide advice and support to other ICATs and physiotherapy staff as well as contributing to the supervision and support of the musculoskeletal physiotherapy team.The successful applicant will have experience as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist in an outpatient setting. They will be a team player and experienced in supervising staff. They should have evidence of post-graduate training including Masters level learning as well as effective communication and problem-solving skills.This post is based at Oxted Therapies Unit but will include work at other sites within the organisation.
