Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an energetic, friendly team at Brew Babu. Brew babu is an independent well-established business servicing abstract tea, coffee, locally sourced breakfasts, and lunches in Oundle, Peterborough. This job is idealfor a head cook/chef who is looking for a change from the typical split-shift kitchen environment.At Brew Babu, we believe that a proper work-life balance and the freedom to cook the food you love is essential to a happy and driven business. Besides Fridays and Saturdays, you can pick the days you work and being a coffee shop; you wont usually be workingpast 6:00 PM.We produce various baked goods fresh in-house, including cakes, so good knowledge would be beneficial. We have a base menu, but you will have full rein of a regularly rotating specials board and assess to some great suppliers. You will also have the abilityto plan and execute your own events at the coffee shop.*Wages to be discussed upon interview.Hours:45 hours per week - We do not open evenings but are open 7 days a week. Typically, 7:30 AM - 4:30/5:00 PM. Besides Fridays and Saturdays, you can pick the days you work.Main Kitchen duties:

  • Daily Special planning and creation to enhance the food menu to grow breakfast and lunch covers.
  • Manage to make all home-made cakes and patisserie of different varieties in high demand.
  • Ensure the kitchen support team maintain a consistency of food prepared and delivered to customers
  • Support in the development of the kitchen support team knowledge of preparation, ability to handover and continue to serve specials.
  • Support management of kitchen stock ordering and rotation
  • Oversee maintenance of hygiene records (fridge temps, food dating, temp checks, record of Allergens) to comply with your local EHO
  • Oversee cleanliness of kitchen including daily and weekly cleaning rota with any concerns reported back to management
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of portion control with food and drink to decrease wastage and control profit and loss
  • Assisting with ordering supplies locally where possible and checking that orders have been correctly delivered and charged
