The position provides exposure to a broad range of IT related projects and activities.As our IT Systems Engineer you will have the following responsibilities:- Resolve 2nd line support requests directly from managed service clients using existing skills and knowledge- Work on project design and implementation together with other team members, support staff and at times, the IT & Systems Director- Perform advanced troubleshooting analysis, which may include working with external vendors to resolve challenging, complex faults- Provide support to 1st Line Support and Junior Technicians/ Engineers and participate in knowledge transfer- Reporting and escalating faults to 3rd Line Support as per pre-defined parameters- Actively participate in reviewing and proposing improvements to existing processes, procedures, systems and services- Budget Management, for staffing, contractors and equipmentSkills & Experience required to become our IT Systems Engineer:Proven experience of:- Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy- Office 365 Suite- Windows 7/8/10- Server /2012/2016/2019- A wide variety of Microsoft Server and Desktop technologies, virtualisation platforms (VMware and Hyper-V) and networking technologies- VMware ESXi and Hyper-V- Networking concepts (TCP/IP v4 v6/DHCP/DNS/VLAN- VOIP fundamentals and troubleshooting- Backup and security management- At least 3 years’ experience with current technology and must have held posts in 2nd Line Support within the last 12 months- Exceptional communicator and a great team player able to also work on own- Be innovative and have a “can do” attitude- The ability to write scripts in Powershell and/or BashAdvantageous:- Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (2008/2012/2016) – (any or all of these)- Microsoft Exchange 2013/2016- Microsoft SQL Server- Network and Infrastructure Design/Support- High availability Systems Design- Microsoft Azure laaaS components (VM’s VNET’s, NLBs) and Azure Backup/Site Recovery- Amazon Web Services- Project management and deliveryWe’re Innovative…We’re in our 28th year here at Innovative Technology, where we have 10 offices on five continents and employ around 400 people, with almost 200 based from our state-of-the-art R&D hub and global head office in Oldham, Manchester.From self-service checkouts to arcade machines, we provide our retail, banking, kiosk, vending, gaming and amusement customers with products and services that help them securely accept automated payments, with our industry leading technology keeping us at the forefront of our sector.By being true to our values of Innovation, Collaboration, Respect and Drive we’ve seen significant growth and won numerous domestic and international awards, whilst offering outstanding career opportunities and great benefits.
