Childrens Social WorkerTeam: Duty & Advice TeamLocation: OldhamStart Date: ASAPContract: On goingHours: 37 - office based roleRate: £39 per hourA Children’s Social Worker is required for the Duty & Advice Team in Oldham.You will work as part of a co-located multi-agency team, which includes representatives from Greater Manchester Police, Health, Community Safety, Adult Social Care, IDVA and the Prevention Hub, this co-location enables more effective communication betweenpartner agencies.As a Duty and Advice social worker you will be required to respond to contacts made to the MASH in a timely way to identify and secure the most appropriate service to support and safeguard children and families.As a Duty and Advice social worker you will communicate with families, partner agencies and members of the public members of the public and partner agencies to enable you to gain details and enable strong evidenced based decision making in line with ourpractice standards and statutory duties.You will have a good understanding of statutory social worker functions and be confident in making informed threshold decisions.Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
Social Work England registration
Post qualification experience
Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
One year minimum post qualified experience in Children’s Social Work
Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups.
Possess knowledge of service needs.
Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
