Job Description

My client, a well-established SME in the food industry now has an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join their friendly team near Oldham.Main duties:

  • Register and approve supplier invoices & credit notes on Sypspro
  • Reconcile statements
  • Match invoices to delivery notes
  • Check & record exchange rates for foreign currency invoices
  • Record foreign currency invoices on cash sheet for payment date
  • Process BACS payment runs
  • Prepare international & ad hoc payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Set up new supplier accounts & verify Bank payment details
  • Filing
  • Process Cash book entries in Syspro, from Bank statements
  • Month End closure in Syspro - PL & CB
  • Complete Bank a/c reconciliations - 7 a/cs
  • Complete & submit VAT returns
The ideal candidate:
  • Although this is a stand-alone Accounts Payable role, the ideal candidate must also work as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment
  • Must been organised, driven and enthusiastic, and be able to manage their own workload
  • Must have previous accounts experience
