Our client is one of Europes leading distribution companies with business interests in three main areas; Mail, Parcels and Logistics. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an CUSTOMS COORDINATOR based out of our clients busy site in Nuneaton.Main Purpose of RoleTo complete customs export and import declarations for our clients international parcels within a suitable time window to ensure goods clear Customs and meet their service transit times. This will be achieved by working with customers, internal partners and external authorities including HMRC and Border Force. In addition you will provide Customs advice to other teams and departments within the business.Key Tasks & ResponsibilitiesComplete customs declarations (including commodity codes) in a timely mannerEnsure internal controls are maintained to guarantee we meet the highest standards of customs complianceRaise issues of non-compliance within the import and export operation to the International Compliance Manager and International Management team and ensure remedial action is completed in accordance with customs regulations and UK/ International lawWork with the International Compliance Manager and the International Customs Specialist to support and advise customers and internal account managers on all aspects of international exporting and importing customs requirementsMaintain records, report and resolve non compliance of customs import/export entry declarations and Customs inspections relating to the International operationResearch and resolve customs related import and export enquiriesAssist with the management of ETSF storage inventory, customs inspections and Transit Arrivals/DeparturesMaintain records to satisfy all HMRC and Border Force requirements and accommodate internal auditsBe a point of contact for our clients outsource partner(s) relating to import/export operational tasks and ensure pre-import/export audits requirements are actioned in a timely mannerUndertake specific projects, working groups, cross functional support or other duties as required by the Compliance Manager in order to drive and enhance the business in all customs related areasSkills RequiredThe successful candidate will ideally be educated to Degree level and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience within a CUSTOMS IMPORT and/or EXPORT or International trade or knowledge of ETSF/Customs Warehouses would be highly desirable but not essential.You will be confident in using Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint and have a professional attitude along with a drive to identify and initiate change.You will possess strong organisational skills with a keen eye for maintaining thorough records of actions taken and progress made and be an assertive and confident communicator to all levels with excellent time management skills.
