Job Description

Our mission is simple…. to help the world love Mondays!We are working with an exciting research and development company who specialise in engineering and systems technology research.This is your opportunity to develop your career with a growing innovative business, the role is based inNuneaton CV11and ispermanent.We are hiring aAerospace Design Systems Electronics Engineer to join our growing team for high-performance systems in the fields of robotics, automotive, aerospace, marine, utilities and renewable-energy.We are looking for capable individuals who are comfortable being placed in a situation requiring them to design and develop a project on their own or while within a small team.It is expected that while applying for this role you have sufficient practical and design knowledge on the functionality of these unmanned systems along with an evident understanding of the requirements to produce such asset to be carried through the prototyping and into the production stage. We are searching for talent capable of identifying a key challenging and visualising a solution to overcome the problem.Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:Candidate requirements in terms of – capabilities, software packages, areas of experience and qualifications.

  • A firm understanding in the design criteria of the area they are working in, for example, Aerodynamics and mechanical properties, and the technics of such to mitigate performance damping effects such as drag and stress.
  • Design ability to implement aircraft/ground/sea/subsea design techniques while retaining functionality and scope requirements.
  • Design accuracy and pace of design is a key feature for our staff.
  • Capability to work with off the shelf components, these may include pre-existing mechanic aspects or systems.
  • Experience using and integrating sensor hardware into existing UAV. Example sensors such as: lidar, live video, accelerometers, GPS and secure COMMS
  • As a team we rely on Fusion 360 as our primary software application for 3D design, previous experience in this tool will be seen as highly useful to keep pace without a learning curves, SolidWorks is also used within the company for larger assemblies or complex modelling.
  • An understanding on the manufacturing requirements for components including tolerance standards, and insight into the functionality of rapid capability prototyping manufacturing such as CNC milling, and 3D printing.
  • An understanding of unmanned vehicle systems and the integration of systems
    • Additional Skills:
  • Engineering technical drawing
  • 3D modelling (Fusion 360)
  • Manufacturing skills experience
  • Vehicle Design
  • Aeronautical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Automotive Engineering.
    • Preferred:
  • A firm understanding of electrical power systems and electrical hardware integration using off-the shelf components, experience with battery management systems.
  • Installation of different hardware types into different platforms, for example, controls and sensors into air, ground and sea platforms and the unique issues and environmental factors each comes with.
