Job Description

Young Persons Support WorkerDid you wish you had someone to guide you when you were aged between 16-21This busy and dynamic service needs motivated Support Workers to encourage young people to be the best version of themselves. Being a young person is tough, helping to lead future generations.Position: Young Persons Support WorkerLocation: Retford, NottinghamshireSalary: £20,500 - £22,077 per annumHours: Full-time or part-time, 37 and 24 hours a weekClosing date: 31st July 2023 - We may close this vacancy early should we receive sufficient interest.About the role: You will be working at an organisation commissioned by Nottingham County Council, which offers a quality strengths based support service which aims to build the skills, confidence and independence of the young people who come through their doors.The team play a critical role in advocating for tenants. From liaising with agencies to help them access permanent accommodation to supporting them to access education or employment training Branching Out do it all. This includes advocating for them in meetingswith services.There’s still time for fun though as you will also support and encourage activities such as football, sports, and activities.Working on a rota basis means you will need to be flexible over a 7 day rota. The solo support shifts are either 07:30 – 15:15 or 14:45 – 22:12 and our core project is 08:00 - 15:30 or 14:30 - 22:00. There will be the option to pick up nights on occasion,for which our night enhancement rates will apply.Change can sometimes be hard so you could face behaviours that challenge, your patient and assertive nature will make sure this doesn’t escalate and make sure there are positive outcomes consistently.About you: As a Young Persons Support Worker, you will be confident and resilient. We are looking for individuals with previous experience working with Young People and who understand the challenges young people face, childhood trauma and its effects. If youve workedas a teaching assistant, youth worker or even volunteered with Young People, we want to hear from you.We are looking for someone to have a basic understanding of IT, has used software like Microsoft Word and Excel in previous roles and must be competent when writing, implementing, and reviewing support plans.About the organisation: The organisation manages 10,000 homes in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Rutland.
