Job Description

Estimator- Nottinghamshire- 55k plus company carMacildowie are excited to be once again partnering with one of the Midlands leading Roofing contractors to exclusively recruit a Sales Estimator to join the flourishing business.This a superb chance for an experienced sales estimator to join an established and growing company.Going from strength to strength, my client is keen to add someone with drive and determination to the team and will reward that with a highly competitive salary and company car and an option for two days remote working from home.Knowledge of roofing and roofing materials is essential as well as a background working in the roofing industry.Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager you will ensure-

  • Projects are Estimated and costs fully understood to ensure that Labour and materials are within the Parameters given by the Contracts Manager
  • Quote leads are generated through all available Channels and an appropriate sales & Estimating process documented.
  • Leads are generated through existing customers and with that relationship referrals and leads in to new customers.
  • Won Contracts are Margin Engineered to ensure that Margin increase opportunities are fully identified and optimized and any extras and sales opportunities are fully exploited.
  • Weekly Documented reporting of performance is circulated to the Contracts Team General Manager and will include leads in, Quotations produced and margin.
  • Tenders reviewed with the Contracts Team Manager prior to commencement of costing and the requirements of the Contracts Team Manager
  • Payment terms and retention caps agreed with the client before handing over to the contracts team, and sent over to the client and finance team.
  • Materials delivered to meet site planning and Roofer start dates so that Roof Tiles are available and on site for the roof start date and ancillary materials are on site the day before Roofers start.
  • Stock on site is managed and ordered to be available for Plot start dates.

  • Handover Process and Reporting
  • Selling in the Building Industry and Business Development
  • Able to use Excel
  • Roofing Estimating & Swift system management - All processes
  • Roofing materials specs and the requirements to meet the appropriate NHBC & British standards.
  • Roofing Knowledge sufficient to enable Accurate & Competitive Estimating (Labour & materials)
  • Reporting and developing budgets
  • Process writing
  • Effective reporting to enable forward forecasting
