We have evolved, over 80 successful years, to become an essential supply partner of building materials to home improvement retailers and builders merchants across the UK, with a range of over 500 trade and DIY products on offer.How will you add value in this roleThis is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead our Supply Chain, Distribution, Production and Engineering teams. Reporting directly to the MD, you will lead with the ambition of providing a highly successful service that exceeds the expectations of our customers and drives profitability and growth at Artex. You will;

  • Manage the end to end supply chain process - working with passionate and driven experts in our business to continually improve what we do.
  • Lead on the implementation of our new Warehouse Management System, and maintain and develop the already successful running of our warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Facilitate the development and progression of our talented people.
  • Be our lead for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) - cultivating a culture where everyone is responsible for EHS. You will build on our accident free 5-year success, with continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Take overall responsibility for our already efficient production process, with support of experts in that area.
    • Are you the person we are looking for Whilst we would love to find someone with experience in all aspects of the role, we would ask that applicants have a solid foundation in at least one of these areas. Alongside the attitudes mentioned earlier you will;
  • Be a strategic thinker, able to keep one eye on how we need to develop for the future, whilst being proactive in rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into the detail when needed.
  • Be confident working as part of the senior leadership team; Whilst we dont require someone with years of exec / board level experience, the ability to work and influence at this level is very important.
  • Focus on our customers future needs and continuously improve and develop how we operate in all your key areas of responsibility.
  • Naturally be able to lead and empower your people to perform at their very best.
  • Be comfortable to constructively challenge at all levels.
