Hospital Stores Assistant | Stores Department, Porter Department | Tollerton, Nottingham | Full Time, Permanent Spire Nottingham Hospital are looking for hands on individual to come on board as a Stores Assistant/Porter with their established team. Thisis to provide an efficient, effective and flexible Portering service to both our patients and staff across the hospital maintaining a courteous and helpful approach. Duties and responsibilitiesTo transfer, transport and guide patients safely around the hospital, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner. Co-ordinate the logistical movement of all goods, supplies and waste both inside and outside the hospital. Assist in stockcount and day-to-day functionality of the stores department, inclusive of order placing when necessary, mailing deliverance and stock replenishment. Undertake manual handling activities as required, i.e. receiving goods, stock movement Aid with crisis support,where applicable, in a calm and efficient manner to ensure staff are fully equipped to deal with the situation at hand Provide support and cover for other members of the Stores Team when needed. Consistently maintaining high inter-personal skills, attentionto detail and awareness of health and safety measures across the hospital in all roles undertaken. Shift working & lone working is necessary in this role. Handling emergency situations calmly & efficiently Medical gas handling, changing cylinders, transportingcylinders to hospital depts. Transporting medical/general waste to the relevant areas. To assist with the general security of the hospital and associated grounds Good P.C skills are needed including E mail communication .Who were looking for Previous experiencein a supplies or stores environment. IT Literate - Basic IT skills (MS Office) Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety at Work and COSHH. On the job training provided. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently withgood use of time management and organisation skills.
