Job Description

Job Title: Hardware Engineer (Ref: 18764)Location: NottinghamThe RoleTo design and Develop New Product Hardware from scratch, including component and Module evaluation & specification. The role will also involve circuit design & schematic capture, as well as multilayer PCB layout.Other Duties include:

  • Working closely with the purchasing function in terms of right first time, cost effective component selection and approval.
  • Work closely with manufacturing operations to ensure seamless transition of design data to finished assembly.
  • Act as liaison between design and external contractors.
  • Provide on time, on target cost hardware designs.
  • Assist in introduction of new products and technologies.
  • Provide guidance on improvements to working practices, equipment etc.
    • The Candidate
    1. Degree in Electronics and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
    2. Good all-round understanding of low power embedded electronics
    3. Familiar with low power RF protocols such as Zigbee, LoRa, Enocean
    4. Proficient in Schematic Capture/PCB layout CAD packages (Altium)
    Desirable:
    1. Knowledge of ISM band RF antenna tuning
    2. RED/CE testing
    3. Design for Manufacture
    4. Software appreciation, Assembler, C, C++
