Job Description

This job role, a Transaction Services / Due Diligence career opportunity in Nottingham is a rare and sought after role ata truly independent business advisory group founded bya team of high achieving professionals and providing Transaction Services, andCorporate Advisory Support to corporates, private equity houses, financial institutions and entrepreneurs.Transaction Services – The firm are able to hire at Executive or Manager level. The role will involve working on financial deals, it is due diligence focused, so the firm are ideally looking for an ACA qualified, often from audit, but obviously any experience within TS or advisory areas is beneficial. You will have strong commerciality,an appetite for working on deals and a curiosity for how business works.You will be comfortable with numbers, hopefully have reasonable experience working with excel, analysing data, plus strong written and verbal communication skills.Good quality business English is required, with the ability to express yourself verbally.Day to day:

  • Supporting a partner or director on delivering due diligence projects. You will get a lot of partner and director attention, there are no multiple layers of staff, so you are often operating as a number 2 on a project, not a number 4 as you might be inthe TS department of a top 10 / top 4 firm. This means people can develop from executive to manager quickly, due to the accelerated experience, with examples inthis firm of people doing that in a year.
  • The firm is more agile and flexible than many larger practices, there is no internal bureaucracy and it’s a dynamic environment for capable people who want to develop and gain strong experience.
  • They have a very good training program, this is an important part of their culture, giving you everything required to succeed in TS / CF.
Someone from an audit background works perfectly, as TS is a natural progression from an audit role, but anyone with TS, CF or advisory experience would certainly be welcome to apply too. Those who have succeeded in this role have often come from audit,like report writing, are curious about businesses and enjoy spending time with the senior tier of financial professionals at their clients. Big 4, top 10 backgrounds offer a good training background to transition into a role like this successfully and a lotof clients are owner managed backgrounds.As a Nottingham based role, it’s important to spend time together in the office, around 4 days per week ideally, but flexibility is part of the culture, so available when needed for home working.You will be supported to develop your own brand and network, attending events and developing your network alongside the firm’s directors. You will seek to develop a peer group across the city and region in the professional services community.Salary wise, Executives are typically paid around the Mid-£40’s with bonus, based on firm and individual performance. They can often be 10-15%, with pension, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays and the offices in Nottingham are nice, with cycle storage andshower facilities in the office. Manager salaries can obviously be quite a lot higher and all applicants will be assessed on their experience and qualifications, with any job offer based on that.
