Job Description

Job Title: Veterinary Science Technical Support SpecialistJob Type: Full-timeAbout Us: The School of Veterinary Medicine and Science is a leading institution committed to excellence in education, research, and clinical practice. We are dedicated to shaping the future of veterinary medicine and science through innovativeteaching methods and state-of-the-art facilities. We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Veterinary Science Technical Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the teaching activities of the School by ensuringthe provision of live animal and clinical-based practicals. Your responsibilities will include fully sorting the running of the schools animal facilities and providing essential animal handling expertise.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the day-to-day running of the animal facilities, ensuring optimal animal husbandry.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the schools teaching facilities.
  • Contribute to and support all school teaching requirements during practical classes.
  • Demonstrate competence in animal handling across all species.
  • Utilise 1 year of experience working in an educational setting to enhance teaching activities.
  • Work with a wide range of animals, both large and small.
  • Apply experience in a relevant technical/scientific role or demonstrate considerable work experience in a relevant technical/scientific capacity.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Veterinary Science, Animal Science, Biology) preferred.
  • Proven experience in working with a diverse range of animals.
  • Competence in animal handling across all species.
  • Experience in a relevant technical/scientific role or considerable work experience in a relevant field.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
