Job Description

National Business Development Manager, Power & Energy Construction, £45k - £50k (DOE) + Car + BonusMy Client, an established, national, leading business in their niche in the Construction Industry, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team and help them grow their business in the Power and Energysector. The sole focus is on Power & Energy projects (Power, Energy, Transmission, Renewables).This is a newly created position, to help the business meet its growth plan and it will sit alongside their 3 existing BDMs (Highways, Water and HS2), reporting into the Sales & Marketing Director.It is a fully remote position, not office based, with national coverage (Client has multiple sites across England, Scotland and Wales), so where you are located is not a key consideration. However, you will of course be expected to meet Customers face toface so regular travel is very much part of the role.Role Responsibilities Include:

  • Generate and qualify sales opportunities
  • Stimulate new relationships and develop existing business relationships
  • Identify, make and develop lasting multi-point relationships with key customer contacts
  • Network across the specific sector-appointed customers
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Strategically evaluate the sector, to target customers/sections/works packages
The role lends itself to an experienced business developer, currently working in the Power/Energy Sector, so that they are able to hit the ground running with minimal industry learning.Candidate Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the power and energy market
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, preferably in the power and energy sector
  • The ability to identify, progress, communicate and convert revenue opportunities
  • Proven track record of success in developing and closing new business
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Outstanding organisation and recording skills for enquiry pipeline and CRM system management
  • Expert level skills in Microsoft, CRM and research packages
  • Outstanding presentation skills in creating & delivering pitches
  • Proactive, self-motivated and possess strong commercial acumen
  • As this is a field-based role it is essential that you possess a full driving licence
