DfE - Department for EducationCOMMUNICATIONS AND ASSURANCE LEAD HEO (Higher Executive Officer)Looking for a new role Were hiring!The Department for Education is responsible for childrens services and education, including early years, schools, higher and further education policy, apprenticeships and wider skills in England.As the Communications Lead, you will work across thei delivery team, to allow them to expand their reach, communicate their offer to Schools, Responsible Bodies and Suppliers and demonstrate their impact to their funders and other key stakeholders.As a high calibre candidate, that possesses experience of communicating (at board level i.e. within a School or Multi Academy Trust/Organisation) and/or has had experience in interacting with senior leaders/stakeholders, producing and drafting comms, anexcellent package is offered.This includes:" £15.77 per hour pay rate" Starting as soon as you have passed clearance checks until the end of July 2025" Accrual of up to 33 days paid annual leave pro rata available (inclusive of bank holidays)" Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility as the office opens at 8.30am to 5pm" This role can be based in Nottingham, Darlington, Sheffield or Coventry" Full training given" Hybrid working once fully trained - 3 days in the office and 2 days working from homeKey Responsibilities:You will be coordinating the communications across all their service areas - creating and editing content and working closely with the Regional Delivery Directorate to maximise engagement. Your role will include (but not limited to):i. Ensuring the publication of new content is to the highest quality standard, ii. Updating and maintaining content for internal stakeholders and contributing to FATE lines and the GOV.UK website.iii. Support to grow our social media reach and design engaging multimedia material highlighting our work. iv. You will build relationships with DfE Communication and policy leads, providing programme information and data as required.v. Work with schools in the programme to develop and co-ordinate the Site Visit programme and evaluation.vi. Act as a point of contact for contracted suppliers with oversight of commercial engagement and practices, understanding appropriate internal contacts and processes within the team.vii. Support with the production of briefings, reports, presentations, and meeting co-ordination. viii. Work closely with Delivery and Finance Hub Leads to support day-to-day business and activities in relation to the shared mailbox and correspondence. ix. Create and deliver an Internal Communications strategy for the CtC programme - effectively communicate business goals, initiatives, and people news, ensuring alignment between internal and external comms.What are we looking for" An instinctive ability to modify tone and content for different audiences while keeping within the Connect the Classroom guidelines. " Excellent attention to detail and the ability to draft and proofread flawlessly. " Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing." You will have at least 1 years experience (perhaps significantly more) working in communications." Experience of working with data and systems i.e CRM to obtain, monitor and analyse information." Experience of working in a fast-paced delivery role, including mailbox management, and responding to correspondence."
