***Please note this is an INTERNAL VACANCY ONLY for NUH employees, therefore only current employees of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust will be considered for the post.***An opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Band 5 Biomedical Scientist. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Haematological Malignancies Diagnostics Nottingham (HMDN) department. The department currently consists of a smll team of dedicated staff who share the vision to provide the best possible service to patients across the region.The HMDN department, which is based at the Nottingham City Campus, currently processes samples for morphology and immunophenotyping; it has close links with histology, cytogenetics and molecular diagnostic laboratories within the region and nationally in order to produce a peer review compliant integrated report.Applicants must be registered to practice with the HCPC and ideally will have completed their IBMS registration portfolio, however candidates who are part way through their portfolio may be considered.The department requires a versatile, passionate and enthusiastic member of staff; they must be able to communicate effectively and have good attention to detail. Some experience and knowledge of flow cytometry and haematological malignancies is required for this post.The successful candidate should be able to conform to Trust manager’s standards and be willing to commit to the Trust Values and Behaviours. Continuing education is encouraged and we actively support CPD. The department is approved for training by the IBMS/HCPC and is UKAS accredited.Working hours are between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. and some weekend working may be required.
