Job Description

If you are a passionate worker who is prepared to work hard to achieve a qualificationthen why not join the Nottingham City Homes team as an apprentice joinerApprentice Joiner x 4Salary: This is dependent on your age - £10,209.08 to £15,777.43 per annumDuration: 24 monthsLocation: Anywhere in the City of NottinghamWe have created a number of exciting new apprentice positions within our property department. The successful candidates will gain an insight into the industry by undertaking a Level 2 joinery apprenticeship whilst carrying out practical work within our tradeteam.Working alongside a qualified joiner, as an apprentice joiner you will;

  • Be committed to attend college to obtain the Joinery Level 2 apprenticeship
  • Undertake all aspects of onsite joinery work which could include roof structures, floors, partitions and second fix work such as door frames and skirting, doors, windows and stairs
  • Undertake repair work, prior to painting and total improvement works including flooring, fencing, shuttering
  • Install building components including door and window frames, door and hatch linings, floor joists and coverings, straight partitions and straight staircases.
  • Use and maintain hand tools, power tools and associated equipment
  • Ensure full compliance with all health and safety procedures and requirements of statutory legislation and financial regulations
  • Be customer focused and shows a desire to deliver excellent customer service to our tenants

  • You need to live within the Nottingham City boundary to be considered for this opportunity; however, applicants with a disability or those who are from a care background are not subject to these restrictions
  • No qualifications are required to apply for this position
  • You will need to pass our assessments in Maths/English and ICT
  • You will need to be able to provide evidence of maths and English qualifications on request or be willing to undertake Maths and English qualifications alongside your apprenticeship
  • You may need to work at heights, in tight spaces and lift heavy items so you will need to be functionally able to undertake the role with reasonable adjustments
