Job Description

SALES DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – NORWICH / STOWMARKET –BUILDERS MERCHANT – COMPETITIVE BASIC + CAR & EXCELLENT BENEFITSOur client is looking for a Sales Development Manager to join ourclients team covering Norwich / Stowmarket Region.A Sales Development Manager at for our client is proud to work as one team, actively developing strong commercial relationships with existing customers and instigatingnew business, allowing our client to service more customers and deliver a great experience for them every time. This role would be covering theNorwich / Stowmarket area.Our client is a leading Builders Merchant with over 150 branches and over 2000 brilliant people.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the regional network and sales teams to develop business within our clients existing customer base.
  • Identifying new opportunities within the designated branch network to develop and grow the business, bringing on new business allowing our client to grow their customer base
  • Operating within the region to assist in developing customer relationships and maximising sales at every opportunity.
  • Meeting and exceeding agreed sales and margin targets.
  • Building relationships with key preferred suppliers to ensure we become merchant of choice and work together to target potential customers.
  • Establishing excellent working relationships within the branches to ensure on-going continuity of business.
  • Acting as an external ambassador and capitalise on our clients reputation and extensive product range.
  • Continually updating product knowledge and sharing with customers to maximise sales and margin.
  • Supporting the branch to identify dormant and declined business opportunities.
  • Identifying and negotiating business opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Keeping all administration up to date on an IT platform.
  • As and when required, cover business critical requirements.
  • Owning and maintaining flexible time management, organisation, planning and support.
  • Contributing to the overall sales team and strategy.
  • The Person
  • As a Sales Development Manager you MUST have a strong background in Sales
  • Ideally experience of working within a builders merchant or similar
  • Previous experience of delivering profitable growth
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong personality, ability to take ownership, make big decisions and ensure that they deliver the required results
  • Strategic thinker who is able to visualise opportunities and implement processes to deliver benefits
  • Strong influencing skills with energy and enthusiasm to build strong customer relationships.
  • As this role will involve drivingthe suitable candidate must hold a full driving licence
  • Live in or around Norwich / Stowmarket
