MTrec’s new career opportunityWe are recruiting for our client who are specialists in their market sector, they are now looking to recruit a Senior Electronics Engineer on a permanent basis.The Job you’ll do

• Deliver new designs to agreed specifications and maintain the existing product range, dealing with upgrades, enhancements and obsolescence all within agreed timelines.
• Producing comprehensive technical documentation to support the design.
• Ability to lead electronic embedded system architecture and design within a project team.
• Perform reviews of project electronics documentation and ensuring correct procedures are implemented and followed within own project(s).
• Prepare scope definitions for suitable technology studies within area of responsibility.
• Keeping up to date with technical developments within specialist area(s).
• Identifying and implementing appropriate tools and methods for electronics development within own project(s).
• Draw on technical knowledge to solve problems where precedent may not exist.
• A capacity to deal with reasonably complex issues, good problem-solving skills with a structured and methodical approach are essential.
• Define and communicate implementation strategy of R&D and electronics development related processes (e.g. NDP) for own project(s) and propose model for local implementation.
• Assisting in identifying required team skills and competencies within area of expertise.
• Good English communication skills and work well with other senior members of project team to define agreed product specifications and ensure effective cooperation of full multidisciplinary team members.
• Ability to effectively manage conflict.
• Regular contact with international colleagues to discuss common issues, identify potential platform strategies and re-use, process implementation etc.
• Liaise with relevant technical and managerial representatives within suppliers to ensure project and department objectives are being met.
• Comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and minimise any impact on the environment whilst carrying out their duties.
• Ensure and promote safe working conditions for all employees, visitors and contractors by implementing, monitoring and complying with occupational health & safety provisions

• 21 engineers in total, and 14 engineers in UK. Close team of 13 engineers in the north east office.
• Office/Hybrid work mode.

About You

• Degree in electronic engineering or equivalent.
• Proven experience of delivering high quality, result based work as an electronics designer for safety related embedded systems.
• In depth technical knowledge in specialist area(s), which can be found in the Position Requirement section, acting as a local authority within the company, sharing expertise as required and ensuring best practice is followed to raise standards.
• Degree in electronic / software engineering or equivalent Related Experience.
• Strong skills and experience in:-
• low power embedded microcontroller-based designs.
• Analogue and digital circuit design, choosing components, justifying the design by analysis and testing of reliability.
• Using schematic capture, PCB layout and routing tools.
• CE and global compliant products and associated approval process.
• producing designs to meet industry specific global approvals.
• writing embedded software for prototype bring up and verification.
• applying safety lifecycles and V’ development model Skills, Special Competencies.
• Knowledge of Ex - Intrinsic safety design and approval process.
• Knowledge of EMC, Wireless Communications and RF technologies
