Occupational Therapist, Reablement, Adult Social Care (full time 37 hrs per week)Would you like a challenging and rewarding career with real opportunities to change the lives of people in NorthumberlandWe are looking for newly qualified or experienced Occupational Therapists to join our Short Term Support Service.If you would like to make a positive impact on peoples lives every working day we would like to hear from you.About the roleThe successful candidates will manage a caseload of clients (often with highly complex needs), using evidence-based clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions to promote independence and achieve peoples goals.Our staff provide leadership and clinical education for junior, student and support staff, through supervision, as appropriate to the banding of the post.You will participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects through specialist interests and steering groups.All Short Term Support Service staff are enabled to work agile from home or any Northumberland County Council site, including an allocated base office site.About the Short-Term Support ServiceWe are a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team for adult rehabilitation working across both primary and secondary healthcare.Our Occupational Therapists work alongside Team Supervisors, Reablement Workers and NHS Physiotherapists and Technical Instructors to help clients achieve their rehabilitation goals.We also carry out rapid assessment and intervention, providing an urgent community response service.We work with adults with various conditions including orthopedic and neurological, as well as older people with age related conditions, falls and stroke.This makes our work varied and interesting and also very rewarding.The Short Term Support Service plays a pivotal role in supporting hospital discharge and admission avoidance and interventions can take place in clients homes as well as Residential and Nursing homes.Some therapy activities occur in hospitals and other community settings, such as Leisure or Community Centres for group work.About youWe are looking for someone who likes variety in their working life and is keen to develop their Occupational Therapy skills through involvement with a wide range of clients with wide ranging health and social care needs.We would like to hear from applicants who share our values: Putting people first ensuring that their identified needs are met in a timely and efficient way Delivering excellence and quality in service provision Showing respect for service users and colleagues alike Keeping our communities safe and wellWe want our staff to be the best so we can give the best possible support to people who need us.What our Occupational Therapy staff say about working here: the team is fantastic and really supportive, and we can make a real difference in our clients lives its a beautiful county and the people are canny you will be valued for who you are and what you do there are lots of opportunities and the teams are very supportive of each other great staff benefits and pension scheme its a brilliant team and an exciting time to join, staff are driving the service forward the people make it very rewarding varied caseloads, supportive management structure, beautiful surroundings, varied job role, different environments, opportunities for complex workWe have the following posts available around the county of Northumberland.
