Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to join a leading organisation within the energy sector, at a time of significant growth. The HR Manager will work closely with the Director of OD & People to lead and coordinate the operational people activities and service delivery across all sites. The organisation has 7 sites across the UK with the 2 lead sites based in Northumberland and Glasgow, therefore this role can be based in either location.The successful candidate will partner the business in the design and delivery of the HR operational plan to facilitate the people agenda within the overall business plan. This will be achieved by supporting the Assistant Director of OD & People in the creation and delivery of the people strategy, as well as developing and embedding HR principles, policies and practices in order to attract, develop and retain talent. This is a superb opportunity to work closely with managers and lead on progressive people management practices to maximise employee engagement across the organisation, supporting cultural development.Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Working with the Associate Director of OD & People in creating the organisational design and operational structures in order to deliver the business plan.
  • Support leaders and managers throughout the organisation and influence opportunities towards building a culture of high performance and individual development
  • Work with leaders and managers to shape and influence HR strategy and the HR operational agenda.
  • Implement, monitor and maintain a robust reward and performance management process ensuring effective personal development plans are realised
  • Role model D&I agenda for the organisation
  • Conduct annual salary benchmarking to inform wider reward infrastructure
  • Be a positive coach and mentor by supporting and developing the performance of the HR Team.
  • Provide HR support, advice and specific expertise to the business where required to support business deliverables.
  • Manage HR operational budgets, including recruitment budget
  • Build collaborative relationships with the Communications and Marketing team to develop and deliver the core values and the internal communications agenda.
  • This role will suit a people and solutions focussed manager with experience gained in a generalist HR Manager role as well as being able to demonstrate proven success within a lead strategic role, responsible for creating new initiatives and engaging managers at the most senior level. Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills are required to drive change across all areas of the business. You will be working with and leading an experienced HR team, have the autonomy to make decisions, be creative and really utilise your skills and experience.
