Job Description

Adecco are delighted to be representing our client for an excellent opportunity that has arisen for an Engineering Manager based in Northumberland.Our client is going through a period of rapid success and growth, and for this reason, are currently in the process of moving into a brand-new purpose-built facility.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that is going from strength to strength, so if you have experience leading a team, with a strong knowledge of both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles, we would be very keen to speak with you.The company has communicated that they would also be entirely open to having conversations with candidates who may not have had managerial experience but are looking to take a step up into a management position.Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 AnnuallyShift Pattern - Day ShiftKey Responsibilities

  • Setting the vision, goals and objectives of the department and developing Engineering KPIs to monitor these targets
  • Engineering lead for installation of new production equipment
  • Delivering production processes that are appropriate for the manufacturing environment, and that meet manufacturing objectives.
  • Developing and implementing process development procedures that are compliant to ISO, GMP and all other applicable agency regulations and standards.
  • Manage supplier activities on site including permit system.
  • Identify engineering cost and efficiency improvements, plan and execute.
  • Ensure the engineering department is cost effective and meets budget.
  • Meet all 5s, GMP, Quality and compliance requirements within engineering department.
  • Meet all H&S and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Responsible for the selection of new equipment, maintenance, and validation (joint with Quality) of equipment.
  • Ensure department follows all processes and procedures. Also, perform all tasks within the ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management, H&S and environmental system.
  • Responsible for all HR requirements within the engineering department.
  • Identify training needs, develop, and appraise team to meet succession plan.
  • Support product development projects and requirements.
  • Represent the engineering department at senior level.
  • Utilise continuous improvement skills and experience to improve processes, carry out RCA and support all site LEAN activities.
  • Deliver PPM schedule on time and to budget.
Personal Specification:
  • Bachelors degree in engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Facilities management & Engineering. Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Chemical sectors preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in personnel leadership and development, ensuring you can direct your team to successful completion of all tasks whilst maintaining good morale.
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO quality systems, validation principles for manufacturing processes and statutory facility requirements.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing, process design, process validation and project management.
  • Experience with statistical techniques (e.g., DOE, SPC, Six Sigma problem solving).
  • Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies.
