Engineering Purchasing Manager £35,000 to £40,000PeterboroughAmarket leading company recognised throughout the commercial vehicle sector for its expertise in design and manufacture of bulk haulage aluminium bodies.The company produce a range of standard bodies with a small element of variation to suit individual customer preferences and bespoke low volume options on a design and build basis.Why would I want to work hereMarket leader, family run business that have long standing members of staff. This role will be a replacement for someone who is retiring, and there will be a full 1 year hand over period. The role comes with 23 days holiday, annual bonus and training. Working in a small team of you 2 you will be a valued member of the business.The Role of Engineering Purchasing ManagerTo negotiate the terms and conditions for all companies purchased goods and services.Responsibilities of Engineering Purchasing Manager

Managing and developing the purchase team in conjunction with stores and parts staff.

Benchmarking the performance of the supply chain

Preparing and processing requisitions, purchase orders and invoices for orders.

Making recommendations to the senior management team on all purchasing matters to continuously improve the processes and results.

Managing vendor relationships and build effective supply chain relationships.

Provide all key suppliers with rolling forward schedules for material deliveries.

RequirementsHave a proven background of senior level procurement within the Engineering and Manufacturing sector and related qualification.Experience managing stores/parts stock in line with minimum and maximum levels for production and parts sales.You WILL need a engineering technical background and be able to understand technical drawings to work closely with the engineers to find a solution and source parts.Please note that interviews will take place face to face at the client premises.
