Job Description

Designer/Detailer Salary: £35,000-£50,000 (DOE) Location: Corby, NN17 Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, Monday-FirdayThe client, based in Corby specialise in designing, fabricating and installing architectural steel work throughout the construction sector. The variety of structure include access ladders, stairs, gantries and balustrading. Due to substantial growth over thepast 18 months, my client are looking for an experienced, qualified designer to help up-skill the team on projects and in-house. Having recently moved to a larger premise due to growth, the office offers a fresh, vibrant and modern work environment. Your day to day

  • Create Fabrication Drawings and BOMs related to the design/project
  • Design various architectural, secondary and structural steel structures.
  • Communicate with the Structural Engineers & Clients to meet the clients specifications and requirements.
  • Using 3D renders to create drawings required to gain approval from Clients design requirements
  • Review your own work to ensure accuracy and information quality
  • Site surveying and attending client DTMs
  • Managing your time effectively to work on multiple live projects
Assisting the design departments with the development of company product design standards. Requirements
  • HNC or equivalent in Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years design experience, preferably structural/fabrication steel work. (Access stairs, Gantrys are favourable)
  • Previous experience in Architectural feature stairs would be a huge bonus.
  • Understanding of British and European specifications & regulations within the industry
  • BIM Level 2
  • Previous experience in AutoCAD 2d
  • Tekla Structure and 3D modelling experience (preferable), training will be available where required.
  • Time management and prioritisation capabilities when managing multiple projects.
  • Verbal and written communication.
  • Work closely with in-house management team and engineers.
  • You must be a TEAM player.
