Job Description

As part of our newly created People Services Model, we currently have a brand new opportunity available to join our award-winning Talent & Development team as a Talent Planning & Analytics Lead.This is an exciting opportunity to work across emergency services, supporting North Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and the Office of the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner (OPFCC). Our Talent & Development team are passionate, forward thinking and thrive on providing a seamless & exceptional service for to our enableNY clients.As a Talent Planning & Analytics Lead, you will work collaboratively with the Talent Acquisition and Development Leads as well Strategic People Partners and will be instrumental in the design and delivery of the workforce planning cycle for our enableNY clients.Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for collating and analysing people data from internal and external sources and designing reports to inform strategic and operational decision making which facilitate change.
  • You will work with a range of cross functional teams and support the Strategic People Partners to facilitate the design and development of organisational establishment plans which directly informs the annual workforce recruitment schedule.
  • You will be accountable for reporting against talent SLA’s and KPI’s as well as working with peers on solutions to respond and continuously improve.
  • You will interpret and translate data to support and inform decisions relating to talent, briefing and presenting to key stakeholders including People Services colleagues, and members of the Chief Officer Team and Senior Leadership teams.
  • Design and develop people related questionnaires and surveys, coaching managers and colleagues on suggested question sets, co-ordinating distribution and provide detailed analysis of findings and recommendations to support improvements on talent processes.
  • Responsible for the creation of a suite of workforce management information and talent data utilising the most effective visuals and technology to ensure EnableNY leads the way in talent analytics.
  • You will assist in ensuring statutory obligations are met in relation to national people / workforce data returns.
  • The role of a Talent Planning & Analytics Lead will be fast paced, challenging, and highly rewarding. A proactive and solutions focused approach is essential, along with excellent communication skills.Skills and expertise we’re looking for from you;
  • You will need prior experience in a similar analytical people role, ideally with specific experience of strategic workforce planning as well as delivering data led projects for a large complex organisation.
  • You will have strong analytical capability not only in the interpretation of data, but also in data query and extraction with advanced knowledge of Excel and ideally experience using products such as Power BI. A knowledge of working with Oracle based HR systems and SharePoint would also be advantageous to the role.
  • You will be great at managing your stakeholders and their competing priorities, your communication and interpersonal skills along with your curious mind means you enjoy understanding the root cause and creating narrative to explain data and insights in a simple yet understandable way.
  • Key to your success in this role will be your love of detail, data research and analysis, combined with the natural ability to understand your clients’ needs regards their talent and workforce data and will have the appreciation of the impact, timely, credible and insightful data can have on the organisation with people being key to success!
