Job Description

Procure Recruitment Group are recruiting for a talented and skilled Assistant Stock Controller to join our client, a leading manufacturing business, in their high performing team.The role is a full time, permanent role based at our client purpose built and impressive manufacturing facility.The main purpose of the role is to assist the Stock Control & Inventory Manager in maintaining stock accuracy for raw materials and components. You will be assigned to categories of inventory for which you will be responsible which may include packaging,raw materials, ingredients or bulk vessels.The main duties include:

  • Execute Weekly Perpetual Inventory on all Ingredients and/or Packaging (relevant to area of responsibility);
  • Execute Weekly LookAhead’ stock counts and report to procurement teams in line with agreed timelines and targets;
  • Control and undertake Perpetual Inventory of other material streams as required eg Ad Mats, chemicals, non-BOM items and other material categorisations.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of systems, WMS v SAP;
  • Assist with monitoring and remedy of upload or interfacing issues eg by correctly aligning any stock differences between systems;
  • Execute daily checks on production Works Orders to reconcile actual v planned and analysis of losses;
  • Assist with the investigation and rectification of discrepancies outside agreed tolerances;
  • Identify and support Procurement teams with the control of slow moving and aged stocks;
  • Record and track data, monitor trends and report upwards to other stakeholders (eg Finance, Procurement, Technical) for stock variances and write-offs in order to determine hitherto unidentified wastage and accurate usages;
  • Support regular checks of Bill of Materials for accuracy against actual production outputs;
  • Liaise with Technical / Quality teams to arrange disposal of material or returns to suppliers in accordance with documented procedures;
  • Assist with the control of stock positions at external / third party storage sites
