Job Description

TRANSPORT COORDINATORCRICKLEWOODSALARY UP TO £28,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCEOur client is one of London’s leading construction companies and they now require an enthusiastic individual to join their transport team. Experience and knowledge in waste, grabs, tipper, aggregate types and skip hire would be beneficial.This position may also be suitable for a young A Level/Graduate, who is a fast learner and has the desire to progress into a Transport Manager role. Full training will be given together with study support to gain the Transport Manager CPC after a qualifyingperiod.The Role:

  • Managing and controlling their fleet of vehicles ensuring the efficient delivery of their services.
  • Effective planning to ensure that all deliveries are completed on time and in line with expected first class service delivery levels.
  • Ensuring the efficiency of the fleet and that all vehicles operate cost effectively at all times.
  • Dealing with drivers on a daily basis, briefing them with their duties and instructing them throughout the working day.
  • Working with the H&S team and driver trainers to ensure procedural and legislative compliance.
  • Dealing with the sales team to provide competitive pricing to customers.
  • Dealing with customer orders and queries and entering them onto the sales order system.
  • Administrative duties to ensure Compliance and Company Policies are all met in full.
Key Skills required:
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise own work load.
  • Negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Professional and approachable.
  • Firm and confident with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Understand the requirements of the Road Transport Directive and current driver’s hours.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Experience in the waste industry would be an advantage.
  • Previous transport experience of 1-year minimum.
