Job Description

Specialist Speech & Language TherapistLocation: EssexCareer LevelB / Band 6Salary: £29500 - £37,000 (plus Essex allowance of £1250 pro rata)Hours: 0.2 – 0.4 WTE. Flexible working considered.You can achieve more at St Andrew’s HealthcareDue to recent investment in the Speech and Language Therapy team, we are currently looking to recruit a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to provide input to our Essex site. St. Andrews Speech and Language Therapy Team are a centralised profession that work across a variety of clinical areas, supporting patients with complex mental health and challenging behaviour needs. We offer specialist input for Speech, Language and Communication Needs and Dysphagia/Mealtime Support.The St. Andrew’s Speech & Language Team is a centralised team ranging from SLT assistant to Band 7 who can offer you the support and development needed to have a great career in the profession. This role will allow the opportunity to be involved in the development of the SLT service with support and guidance from established members of the team. This role would suit a Band 5 ready for that step up or someone already established at Band 6 level.What you can expect from us:

  • Daily access to Highly Specialist SLT staff to further develop your confidence and competences across clinical pathways.
  • Regular face to face clinical supervision with a Highly Specialist SLT.

  • Regular review of your developmental and training needs.
  • What we are looking for in you:
  • Evidence of working knowledge and clinical skills in mental health
  • RCSLTNQPCompetencyFramework signed off
  • Recognised UK Dysphagia qualificationor relevant clinical experience/ competency sign off.
  • Or willingness to complete dysphagia qualification
