Job Description

Senior Town PlannerNorwichA senior planner position has opened with a well-established, independent, multi-disciplinary planning consultancy who are looking to employ a positive and forward-thinking Town Planner to their team in Norwich. The successful candidate will gain exposureto a vast number of projects, ranging from residential projects to solar and sustainability, constantly improving their technical ability as well as the places they work on.We are seeking applications from an experienced planner with strong technical, management, IT, and communication skills. This applicant with have at least 2 years post qualification experience in a relevant role, and a degree in an RTPI accredited course.They can expect to liaise with contractors and suppliers, preparing and submitting planning applications, conducting research, and writing high quality report.The essential knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role are:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong at client relation building.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning process.
Duties of the role will include:
  • Be accountable for budgetary, quality, safety, and timeline targets.
  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare, submit, and review planning applications, appeals, and pre-applications.
  • Prepare fee proposals to generate new business.
  • Review local planning authority local plans and their next stage of production.
  • Manage community engagement.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders involved in the process.
