Operational IT Security Manager3-6 Monthsup to £550 per day Inside IR35One of IT Bods leading clients is seeking an Operational IT Security Manager to delivering operational cyber security capabilities tp join the team on a 3-6 month contractYou will be the primary point of contact for cyber security issues across my clients organisation, you will have the responsibility of building the new operational security team.You will be expected to take ownership of cyber incidents, lead day to day cyber operations and look to improve and fortify the capabilities, while shaping the teams development. Youll need a mix of strategic, tactical and technical thinking, and the abilityto collaborate widely to make a crucial difference to our capabilities.Working closely and in collaboration with the Head of Information Security, the successful candidate is directly responsible for mitigating the operational IT Security risk. This includes, reporting on and mitigation of vulnerabilities within the IT estate,the detection and initial investigation of suspicious activity from analysis of system log files and improving awareness of the IT Security agenda within operational IT teams via training and coaching.The Operational IT Security Manager will be responsible for the line-management of a team delivering operational IT security services for the institution and the role reports to the Assistant Director of IT Infrastructure Operations. The role holder willhave a significant role within the IT Infrastructure Operations Group.Essential SkillsProven experience of managing IT security monitoring systems.Proven experience of managing information security matters (or related functions such as IT audit or risk management).Expert experience of LogRhythm, NXlog, Tenable and Snort, specifically the interaction of the products in within Higher Education environmentFirst Degree (or equivalent qualification) or equivalent experienceInformation security certification/qualification.Ability to learn complex compliance regimesAbility to configure, implement and maintain an IT security monitoring systemStrong knowledge of network protocolsStrong knowledge of network and server operational systems and softwareStrong knowledge of software exploits and vulnerabilitiesAble to identity, analyse and process information security incidentsDemonstrable experience of managing organisational compliance matters.Desirable SkillsPrevious experience of participation in strategy and policy implementationPrevious experience of training course design and deliveryPrevious experience of procedure design and implementationIf you are interested in hearing more about the remote contract Operational IT Security Manager offering up to £550 per day inside IR35 for 3-6 months please click on the link to apply
