Job Description

Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Role ResponsibilityThe Norfolk Highways Maintenance contract requires a Multi Skilled General Operative to work in a busy environment delivering highway maintenance works to Norfolk County Council. Responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Highway maintenance duties including works such as groundworks, drainage, kerbing, concreting and asphalting
  • Adhering to company Health and Safety procedures at all times and encouraging others to do so
  • Reporting directly to the works Supervisor and works Ganger who will be responsible for ensuring the work has been fulfilled on a daily basis
  • Ensuring that works are delivered within programme, in a safe manner, and that commercial targets are met
    • The ideal candidateThe ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience of working within Highways Maintenance. They will:
  • Have obtained a CSCS card and NRSWA card
  • Preferably have forward tipping dumper and roller training competency certificates
  • Have experience of operating road surfacing machinery/equipment
  • Be able to work independently but also as part of a team
  • Be motivated
  • Be IT literate - to operate mobile tablet device
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
  • Have a flexible working approach
