Job Description

What you will doAs part of the workshop team, you will implement Workshop & Service (Offshore) Hydraulic Technician duties to the highest standard. Ideally you will have experience within the manufacture and testing of Hydraulic Power Control Units (HPU’s), Well Head ControlPanels (WHCP’s), Top Side Termination Units (TUTU’s) and Interface/work-over panels. Intervention Workover Control Systems (IWOCS), Chemical Injection (CI) packages. Fire Suppression & Deluge Control units.What we can offer

How you will do it
  • Identification and installation of hydraulic components.
  • Reading and understanding P&ID schematic drawings, General Assembly drawings, Parts Lists and Test Procedures (Flushing, Pressure Testing, Leak Testing, Functional Acceptance (FAT) work.
  • Pressure testing of small bore tube work ranging from ¼’’ to 1’’ & equivalent metric systems, also pipe work hydrostatic testing. Ensuring safe systems of work with pressures of up to 40000 psi.
  • Flushing of Hydraulic systems and cleanliness sampling to ensure compliance with prescribed cleanliness levels. Familiarity with SAE AS 4059 class 6B-F (AS598 or ISO4407) particle counting systems and NAS 1638 Class 6 comparator systems. Ideally familiarwith PAMAS particle counting equipment.
  • Testing and Calibration of Instruments including Pressure Relief Valves, Pressure Yield Valves, Pressure & Level Transmitters, Pressure Switches, Pressure Sensing Pilot Valves, Pressure Gauges.
  • Inspection and repair (including modifications to equipment) for use in the workshop manufacture and testing.
  • Use of general fitting and fabrication hand tools, and workshop machinery including Pillar Drills, Band Saw, Pedestal grinders and Linishers.
  • Work offshore as and when required. (Role is primarily workshop based in Wymondham)
What we look forEssential
  • Experience of working with Instrument Tubing and the make-up and assembly of Twin Ferrule systems including Swagelok, Parker and Gyrolok/Hoke. Cutting, deburring, bending, accurate pulling on/setting of ferrules. Assembly of these types of tube systems intovalves.
  • Experience of working with Medium & High Pressure Cone & Thread systems including Autoclave and Butech type tube/valve connections and associated instrument tubing skills.
  • Experience with manufacture and assembly of Pipe-work systems including cutting NPT threads on Ridgid type machinery and correct assembly of connections.
  • Experience with manufacture and assembly of Pipe-work systems including cutting NPT threads on Ridgid type machinery and correct assembly of connections.
  • Experience in the use of general fitting and fabrication hand tools, and workshop machinery including Pillar Drills, Band Saw, Pedestal grinders and Linishers.
Preferred
  • Mechanical Craft Apprenticeship or similar qualification e.g. level 3 NVQ Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering – Fitting and Assembly with relevant units for Hydraulic Instrument systems. I.e., QCA Codes
  • Able to travel away from home for on-site installations and commissioning of new equipment within the oil and gas industry both onshore and offshore.
  • Ability to install and inspect ATEX approved glands, would be an advantage.
  • TIG welding capability working with 316 Stainless Steel, would be effective.
