Job Description

Rthirteen recruitment is currently working in partnership with a well-known Norfolk manufacturing business in their recruit for a Health & Safety Manager. The successful candidate will be taking responsibility for the company’s compliance with relevant health and safety measures, as per statutory requirements ensuring staff are aware, trained and following all protocols put in place.This is a great opportunity for someone with previous health & safety leadership experience, preferably within the manufacturing sector, to join a leading business in a key role where you will be able to grow and further develop your career.Duties to include:

  • Taking overall responsibility for the company’s H&S compliance, ensuring staff are aware and following relevant protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and incorporate any updates in law into the H&S policy.
  • Providing leadership, advice and support, and develop the local H&S culture, where everyone takes responsibility for a safe workplace
  • Setting up H&S representative meetings as per statutory requirements.
  • Implementing practical and effective measures that promote H&S in the workplace.
  • Conducting all necessary risk assessment and special assessments for each site as required by the business.
  • Organising and conducting all relevant H&S training to employees.
  • Effectively prioritise time to critical projects, work with first aiders, emergency marshals, team leaders and other groups to ensure their H&S roles are defined, optimised, practical and effective
  • Conducting internal and compliance audits across all sites.
    • You will have/be:
  • Previous experience in a senior H&S positions, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience and knowledge of Health and Safety Management / Systems and behavioural safety and change management
  • Knowledge and experience of risk identification, risk control, risk monitoring and audit process.
  • Ability to operate and positively influence at all levels in the organisation.
  • Ability to devise practical solutions to complex and risk-based problems or challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Very strong time management and organisational skills with high attention to detail
