Job Description

Head of Adult Respite Services (Replacement Care)Location: Hybrid Working; base at either Norwich or Dereham, NorfolkSalary/Contract: £42,000 per annum, Permanent, 37 Hours per weekAre you an experienced care services manager looking for a new and exciting next stepDo you thrive in a changing environment and get a buzz from embracing new ways of workingCan you engage and motivate colleagues to consistently delight our customersWould you like to join an amazing company that puts each and every individual at the centre of its businessIndependence Matters provide support opportunities for adults with learning disabilities, young people in transition and those living with dementia across the whole of Norfolk.We are embarking on a major transformation programme: remodelling our service delivery methods and going digital. To realise our goal, we have created four new Heads of Service roles. The successful candidates will join us at the start of this exciting journey;working together to help shape our future services.Our CQC registered replacement care service is delivered through 3 CQC residential registered schemes and offers our customers a great opportunity to develop independent living skills, socialise and make new friends. Our 15 beds are spread across Great Yarmouth,Norwich and Kings Lynn and provide small, homely facilities that are well equipped enabling us to support people with complex care needs.During 2023-24 there is a planned review of replacement care facilities in Norfolk led by Norfolk County Council Commissioners. This role will be a Champion of Change and key in supporting the Director and Deputy Director of Care to adapt and develop newservices in response to customer needs and commissioner intentions.Key responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Ensuring that services are quality focused and deliver optimum levels of operational and business performance in line with contract KPIs and annual targets set
  • To develop and embed Positive Behaviour Support to ensure we can support residents and customers with behaviours of concern and complex care needs
  • Collaborating with Heads of Service colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of all services across the company to ensure business continuity
  • Providing operational leadership to Service Managers and Registered Managers
  • Ensuring the services meet regulatory and compliance requirements
  • To embed co-production into services to ensure that tenant and carers voices are heard and central to service delivery
  • Continuously role modelling behaviours that are in line with Independence Matters vision and values
  • Proactive budget management
You will need:
  • Significant experience as an operational manager within the social care sector
  • An excellent understanding of the customer and demonstrable experience of developing and delivery services that are customer focused.
  • A Level 5 leadership/management qualification or equivalent
  • A range of ICT skills, including Microsoft Office, and an appetite to embrace the digitalisation agenda
  • Experience as a motivational and inspiring people manager
  • Excellent communication skills
Other requirements:
  • An Enhanced DBS check with Children and Adults barring is required for this role
  • Full UK driving licence and use of a car
  • To undertake designated County out of hours, on-call duties for advice and guidance
