Job Description

A start up Biotechnology Company is looking for an experienced Bioinformatician, with a passion for developing genome editing platforms, to join their rapidly growing scientific team in Norwich.The CompanyThey are working the way agriculture and its success is developed and commercialised. They are using a pioneering technology to ensure benefits to grower, processers and consumers.Bioinformatician Role:This fantastic opportunity is needing someone to come aboard and be the go to person in the company for everything bioinformatics. You will receive a competitive salary, the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic and varied role and work with an ambitious and highly rewarding company.Reporting the CSO, you will identify, invent, develop and implement computational biology methods to support the development of gene editing based technology and products.This companies analysis scope is relatively diverse, spanning areas such as host/pathogen analysis, disease indications, sequence analysis, comparative genomics, pathways and networks, gene and regulatory RNA expression and text mining.Bioinformatician Requirements:

  • Ph.D. degree in Bioinformatics-related subject, preferably with 3-5 years postdoc and/or industry experience
  • Experience in developing automated pipelines, mining large-scale genomic and RNA datasets, developing custom analysis tools and establishing internal repository data resources
  • Plant genomics background
  • In return, you will receive a salary of between £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience, excellent benefits package and ongoing career development.The interview process includes an initial telephone interview followed by video/onsite interview.
