We are working with a local authority in Newton Heath to find a Claims Advisor on a temporary basis.Length of role: Initial end date of 28/07/2023.PAYE rate: £14.69 per hour. Please let me know if you would be looking for a different hourly rate.Hours: Full-time 37 hours.Hybrid Working: 2 days a week in office.The role:To deal with Motor Claims, advising on personal injury and credit hire cases.Key Duties:-Responding to letters of claim, and various applications in relation to motor claims.-Liaising with Divisional Accident Clerks or other personnel including Professional Standards, Prosecution, Crown Prosecution Service, Summons Clerks, Coroners Clerks, to obtain information.-Obtaining court availability from witnesses involved in civil proceedings to enable legal representatives to set trial dates, to warn/cancel witnesses to attend court and to keep them up to date with progress- Recording the outcome of civil proceedings, settlements or withdrawn claims and apprise management.- Investigating civil claims, considering liability in accordance with the Civil Procedure Rules, utilising case law where appropriate and reporting to insurers/loss adjusters/solicitors/force management to make informed decisions as to whether the matter shouldbe contested or settled.Experiences required:-Worked in a large-scale organisation dealing with financial compensation claims including public and or motor and or employer liability claims.- Proven experience of handling uninsured and insured matters (within delegated handling authority). Making decisions on liability reporting to the insurers, loss adjusters and solicitors where appropriate-Experience of obtaining details of losses incurred in respect of damage to vehicles and calculating and pursuing recovery of uninsured losses.If you are interested, or have any questions, please let me know.
