Job Description

The RoleAs a Technical Support Scientist, you will be responsible for providing highly specialised and qualified technical support to the commercial team with customer enquiries. You will also work within the wider Technical Support Group to provide additional technicalsupport.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to;
  • Communicating regularly with customers to learn about their business challenges and requirements
  • Driving a sense of urgency to ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and with an emphasis on a "first time solution"
  • Consulting with colleagues, manufacturing and field, when troubleshooting to advance knowledge and verify progress when troubleshooting
  • Continuous desire and demonstrable ability to advance knowledge on product, its use in the marketplace, and its position relative to competitive products
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize proper statistical techniques to review service data to interpret, propose actions, next steps to investigate to root cause, develop countermeasures and monitor for timely determination of effectiveness.
  • Train others on topics where expertise has developed to expert level.
  • Excellent follow-up skills to insure we exceed customer expectations and close all outstanding issues.
  • Understands customer perception and the associated business impacts and is commercially capable of resolving customer issues in a rapid fashion.
  • Managing Call Escalations - ability to identify, own and track any issues with an account, according to call escalation procedure, to reach resolution.
  • Responsible for providing technical support to BBIs operational departments and maintaining the Rapid response system.
  • Performs duties in accordance with the departments standard work to ensure performance of the operating systems.
  • Responsible for completion of appropriately assigned Continuous Improvement initiatives, including updating of controlled systems (CIPs).
  • Responsible for the implementation of the "working ways" and any Service level agreements for all technical support activities to stakeholders, value stream leaders and appropriate Leadership Teams including generation of reports, metrics and objectivesin alignment with BBI goals and personal objectives.
RequirementsThis role will be best suited to an individual who has a Bachelors degree in life science or a similar discipline. A knowledge of the IVD market would be advantageous.To be successful in this position you will need to demonstrate excellent presentation and coaching skills alongside practical laboratory experience.
