Role: Technical ConsultantLocation: NewportSalary: Up to £45,000 per annum CPS Group Ltd are currently recruiting for a Technical Consultant to join a Financial Services organisation who are going through an exciting expansion.As part of the Infrastructure team you will be accountable for the successful delivery of high availability infrastructure services for Internal and External customers. You will work as part of a wider team and closely with the technical and leadership teamsto deliver and support infrastructure solutions that meet customer needs. The Technical Consultant will be responsible for the delivery of a stable, scalable and supported infrastructure platform to internal and external customers.Key Responsibilities: To contribute to a strategic vision for their infrastructure platform as the organisation moves from traditional on-premise solutions to a hybrid cloud landscape. Maintain a performance dashboard that helps ensure infrastructure supply meets demand as well as ensuring SLAs are adhered to. Work with chosen partners to design, deliver and support a modern infrastructure platform to the organisation, with focus on confidentiality, availability and integrity of data assets. Continues to develop & improve the infrastructure platform by identifying areas for improvements to confidentiality, availability, integrity and efficiency of services Communicate with Clients at a professional level, explaining technical issues to non-technical staff Create infrastructure diagrams, both physical and logical to ensure that the Network estate is accurately documented Create and maintain infrastructure documentation and fault-finding proceduresEssential skills & experience: 5 Years+ in a 3rd line position supporting Windows Server System Active Directory administration and configuration Microsoft SCCM Administration experience VMWare 6+ Design Configuration, Deployment and Administration Ability to create complex, meaningful diagrams using Visio Understanding and configuration of WAN, LAN and VPN technologies Understanding and configuration of Network and Telephony Security Principles Technical Project Management experienceDesirable skills & experience: VMWare Distributed Switch Installation, Configuration and Management Linux experience (CentOS/Red Hat) Brocade Fiber Switching Administration Storage Technologies Disaster Recovery practises and implementation.
