Job Description

Electronics Systems Engineer - CWMBRAN - £35,000 - £40,000 - World leading company - 25 days holiday + other benefitsThe RoleA new and exciting opportunity has arisen within a global phenomenon, as an Electronics Design Engineer.Working closely with the Electronics Engineering Manager, you will become part of the Electronic Design Hardware Design team where you will play an integral part in defining software hardware specifications, designing electric circuit diagrams and also board layout. You will team up with the Manager, support them and assist with delivering projects on time and within the company standards, whilst exceeding expectations.You will be involved in the coordination of major electronics projects from a system design perspective and you will act as a project system engineer, gathering, reviewing and sharing the system level requirements among different engineering functions to ensure that all product interfaces both hardware and software are considered and properly match the design requirements.Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Driving development and innovation taking on responsibility for product electronic designs and prototyping
  • Develop and test solutions to problems to ensure product quality * Identify and recommend product improvements to improve technical performance
  • Understand, compile and manage the implementation of customer requirements flow for hardware design through to internal and external suppliers
  • Hardware/Software systems engineering and integration
  • Generate product documentation and maintenance of existing designs and drawings (schematic, BOM, PCB, cables etc.)
    • Experience and skills required:
  • Excellent academic record in Electrical/Electronic/Software Engineering
  • At least 5 years experience in digital Electronic Hardware Design
  • Experience working in the design implementation, and testing of algorithms and digital signal processing.
  • Working knowledge of Analogue and Digital design including Microcontrollers, low power design, high-speed digital design, implementation and testing of algorithms and digital signal processing.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic design tools (Altium)
  • Experience of using test equipment such as logic/signal analysers, oscilloscopes, function generates, spectrum analysers, network analysers, multimeters etc.
    • Desirable:
  • Analog low voltage, low noise electronics design experience
  • Strong embedded firmware skills in C, C#, C++
  • Strong modelling in analytical and MATLAB or similar.
  • Radio system and antenna design including certification.
  • Design-in experience with microcontrollers such as ARM, AVR or MSP430
